The race to build a practical quantum computer just got a significant financial boost, with PsiQuantum announcing it has raised $2.4B in a Series C funding round. The company is singularly focused on constructing the world's first useful quantum computer, a monumental task requiring at least 1,000,000 qubits and robust error correction.
PsiQuantum believes photonics is the only viable path to achieve this complex technological feat. Its interdisciplinary team, comprising quantum physicists, semiconductor, systems, and software engineers, is dedicated to solving real-world problems by making error correction central to its development process.
