CORU Closes $100K Funding

CORU, Ireland's multi-profession health and social care regulator, has secured $100,000 in investment capital.

This funding round will support the organization's ongoing mission to protect the public by promoting high standards across various health and social care professions.

CORU's primary role involves ensuring professional conduct, education, training, and competence through the statutory registration of practitioners in Ireland.

The regulator currently oversees professions including Dietitians, Dispensing Opticians, Medical Scientists, Occupational Therapists, Optometrists, Physiotherapists, Radiographers, Radiation Therapists, Social Workers, and Speech and Language Therapists.

This new capital is expected to bolster CORU's operational capacity and enhance its infrastructure, which is crucial for a body tasked with such extensive public protection responsibilities.

The investment underscores the importance of robust regulatory frameworks in maintaining public trust and professional integrity within the health and social care sectors, enabling CORU to further strengthen its oversight mechanisms and support its administrative functions.

Looking ahead, CORU is also preparing to extend its regulatory oversight to additional professions, with registers soon to open for Social Care Workers, Psychologists, Counsellors and Psychotherapists, Clinical Biochemists, Orthoptists, and Podiatrists.
