Climate Action Society Secures $10

Climate Action Society, a pioneering non-profit organization, has secured $100,000 in investment capital from investors.

This funding round marks a significant milestone for the student-led initiative, which focuses on confronting the complexities of climate change and promoting environmental interests.

Founded in 2018 by BSc Population Health student Aliza Ayaz, the UCL Climate Action Society operates with four primary objectives.

These include improving education and raising awareness on climate change mitigation and adaptation, integrating climate change measures into coursework and career paths, strengthening student resilience to climate-related hazards, and understanding the roles of various stakeholders in climate action.

The society aims to promote action at a consumer level, inspiring individuals through education, and influencing business-minded entrepreneurs to adopt ethical practices and navigate careers in sustainability.

The $100,000 in capital will support Climate Action Society's ongoing efforts and planned growth initiatives.

This investment is expected to enable the organization to expand its projects and initiatives, enhance its educational outreach programs, and further its mission to dissolve stereotypes associated with environmental protection by promoting inclusion and diversity, particularly for BME individuals.

The funding will also bolster their capacity to host events like the Symposium, which aims to inspire a new generation to drive change.

This financial backing underscores the growing recognition of student-led climate action and the importance of fostering environmental stewardship.
