NEXTCHEM has acquired Ballestra Group for an undisclosed amount, in a corporate acquisition that significantly expands its industrial footprint. This strategic move sees NEXTCHEM taking ownership of a global leader in the development, engineering, and supply of cutting-edge technologies and processing plants across several key sectors.
Ballestra, founded in 1960, is renowned for its state-of-the-art solutions in powder and liquid detergents, surfactants, soap, syndet, and specialty esters production. The company also specializes in chemical plants for sulphuric acid, phosphoric acid, and fertilizers. Its portfolio includes patented innovations like SULPHONEXT technology for surfactant production, and it operates industry-leading brands such as Mazzoni, known for soap and glycerine processing, and Buss Chemtech AG, specialists in gas-liquid reactions. Ballestra’s continuous innovation and commitment to efficiency and sustainability in the chemical and detergent industries present a strong strategic fit.
The acquisition is expected to generate significant synergies by integrating Ballestra's deep technological expertise and proprietary equipment into NEXTCHEM’s operations. Ballestra’s global presence, complemented by its Bangalore-based subsidiary, Ballestra Engineering and Projects Limited (BEPL), provides a robust operational base and critical market access, particularly in the Indian subcontinent for detailed engineering, procurement, and technical assistance. This integration is set to enhance the combined entity's capabilities across the chemical processing and detergent manufacturing value chains.
Through this acquisition, NEXTCHEM aims to strengthen its position as a comprehensive provider of industrial technologies and engineering solutions. The combined entity is anticipated to leverage Ballestra’s legacy of innovation and specialized knowledge to drive progress, offer expanded solutions to customers worldwide, and reinforce its commitment to sustainable industrial development within the chemical and detergent sectors.
