Hanseatic Global Terminals has acquired Imetame Logística Porto for an undisclosed amount, marking a significant corporate acquisition in the port and logistics sector. This transaction represents a direct purchase by Hanseatic Global Terminals, integrating the Brazilian port project into its global operations.
Imetame Logística Porto is a deepwater port project situated in Aracruz-ES, Brazil, approximately 70 km from Vitória. Designed with a 17-meter depth, it is being developed to accommodate large vessels for both long-haul and cabotage lines operating in Brazil. The facility is envisioned as a sustainable logistical platform, aiming for lower carbon emissions and reduced operating costs to serve the new generation of ships. It will function as a complex of private terminals offering specialized services for diverse cargo categories, including containers, bulk grains, general cargo, and Oil & Gas, across its more than one million square meters of total area.
The port is projected to have infrastructure capable of moving around 1.6 million containers and 10 million tons of grains annually at full operational capacity. Initial test operations are planned for the second half of 2025, with full commercial operation anticipated by mid-2026. This acquisition is strategically important for Hanseatic Global Terminals, providing a foothold in a key South American market with a modern, high-capacity, and sustainably focused port asset.
The strategic rationale behind this acquisition lies in expanding Hanseatic Global Terminals' operational footprint and enhancing its service offerings. The integration of Imetame Logística Porto is expected to generate significant synergies, combining Hanseatic's global expertise in terminal management with Imetame's advanced, sustainable infrastructure. The combined entity will leverage Imetame's planned capacity and technological integration to strengthen its position in providing comprehensive and environmentally conscious logistics solutions. This strategic move aims to create a more robust network, enhancing operational efficiency and market reach in the evolving global trade landscape.
